The October Meeting featured Melynda Brown who is the manager of Charlotte Waters Aquatic
Preserves. I must admit that I didn’t even know that the agency existed. Mylanda gave an
excellent presentation, which resulted in ten minutes of questions, which is far longer than
                               normal.

                               Cruising
Hurricane Irma has seriously affected several of our
members, mainly with seawalls collapsed. This has
required boats to be relocated or removed from the
water. Even with these problems, the club has
maintained a full cruising schedule. First, this month,
was a cruise to South Seas Island Resort captained
by Juan and Genevieve Lesieux. South Seas Island
Resort is a club favorite with two or three enjoyable
cruises a year and this year was no exception. Ron
Vendegna and Tyler Swanson leading us to the Fort
Myers River District followed this cruise. Besides
enjoying the excellent downtown district, we sampled
Fort Myers famous maple bacon donuts. In
November, Jim and Joann Waschbusch took us to
Venice for the Venice Fine Arts Show. This cruise
was followed by the ‘Annual Cruise to Nowhere’,
captained by Sue and Gene Fuller. Also in November,

we went to Marina Jack’s with Chris and Diane Port
and to Longboat Key Club with Kevin and Nan Lee.

                                                                    Social
It is time to announce November’s premier social
event, which will be held at the PGICA on November
16 and is the PGIslander version of ‘Friendsgiving’.

dinner with your friends and is usually held sometime
during the week before Thanksgiving. This year, as in
previous years, Sue Linehan is organizing it. I’m sure
it will be very enjoyable as it has been in the past.
