JEWELRY DESIGNING CLASS: Tuesday, November 21, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Come and learn to create a necklace or
bracelet using your choice of a variety of stones, crystals, metals, and/or other beads. Learn how to design using simple
techniques and tools. If you have an outfit that needs a jewelry item, wear it or bring it along and match your necklace or
bracelet to your outfit. Or make a holiday gift for someone special. All materials and tools for creating will be provided.
Cindy Wheeler instructs this fun class. Cost is $30. Advance registration at least two days prior to class is required and

LET’S GO FISHING: Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. for six weeks beginning on Wednesday
January 10. An introductory course in Florida Fishing is being offered at the PGI Civic Association on
Shreve Street in Punta Gorda. Topics to be covered include fishing techniques, tackle selection,
rigging, knot tying, lures, baits, cast nets, fish identification, tides, and fishing regulations for fishing in
fresh and salt waters of Southwest Florida. Rods, reels, lures, nets and other fishing equipment will be
demonstrated during the class and there will be a number of useful handouts issued to students. The
class is geared towards beginning anglers, but more experienced fishermen will pick up helpful tips as well. The instructor
is long time local fishing guide Capt. Ralph Allen who might even reveal the locations of a few local hotspots! The course
is open to all members of the public. The cost for the class is $45 and advance registration is recommended by calling

ORIGAMI BOX MAKING: December 7, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Plan to join Joann Stratos for some fun in making
ornamental Christmas origami boxes with gift tags. Great to use as special, decorative gift boxes for small
items, such as jewelry, gift cards, etc. All materials are included in price of $20. Call 941-637-1655 to

ESSENTRICS STRENGTHING AND TONING: Thursdays, 10 a.m. This is a full body workout that
rapidly changes the shape of your body through a dynamic combination of strengthening, stretching

show “Classical Stretch” which has been on PBS since 1999 and taught by Miranda Edmond-White,
a former ballerina who has created this unique and effective program. All you need is a mat, a hand towel for your neck

ESSENTRICS GENTLE STRETCH: Mondays, 8:30 a.m. This slow-paced and gentle, age reversing workout will help to
release tight muscles, rebalance joints and restore the entire body. Regain your flexibility and mobility while slowly
building strength and reawakening the power of your 650 muscles. Designed for men and women of all ages who are
new to the technique, would like a relaxed pace exercise routine, may be less mobile, have atrophy-related stiffness,
frozen shoulder, chronic aches and pains, want to work on improving posture, or haven’t exercised in a while. All you
need is a mat, a hand towel for your neck and an optional strap. Cost is $10, taught by certified ESSENTRICS Instructor,

DAO YIN SHENG GONG: Wednesdays,10 to 11 a.m. Starts on Wednesday, Nov. 8. This Stretch and Balance is the
most popular and most helpful class for recovering one’s balance. It utilizes an ancient Traditional Chinese Medicine
(TCM) system of gentle twisting motions, breath control, stimulation of acupressure points in the body and mental
development. These fluid harmonious movements will improve energy circulation, loosen the joints, tone up and
oxygenate muscles and relax the nervous system. Cost is $8 per lesson, registration not required, pay before class. Call

TAI CHI/QIGONG: Fridays, 10 to 11 a.m. Starts on Friday, Nov. 10. The first of November will see a new beginning of
taiji and qi gong at PGICA. Richard will introduce a new form known as 13 Postures, the form is quite easy physically.
Emotionally and spiritually this form is the beginning of recovery in all aspects of our health. No previous experience is
needed, just a desire to get well through slow, purposeful movement and mindfulness. Each class is $9 and students
drop in, drop out as they wish. Registration not required.
YOGA: Thursdays, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The yoga workout is designed to accommodate a beginner as well as an
intermediate student. If you have difficulty getting down and up on the mat, the class can accommodate you while sitting
in a chair. Sessions are $10, registration not required. You will need a mat and comfortable clothes. Please do not have a
