And yet another year is off to a flying start here in our little corner of
paradise! We welcome back our snowbird friends who dive – we know it
was impossible to brave the cold northern temperatures any longer.
Welcome back! Even with our cold snaps this time of year, you won’t be
doing a “polar plunge” in Florida!
As the year gets
underway, a couple
of members are
planning a dive trip to
Roatan, Honduras in
late January, so stay
tuned for fabulous
photos from that
adventure. Others
are looking toward
the Caymans in
February and maybe
other slightly exotic
locations into the
spring months.
Speaking of exotic
places, our thanks go
to Tanya for her dive
photos for this article.
She took some great
shots of a whale
shark and a sea lion
from her visit to La
Paz, Mexico. These special creatures are wonderful examples of the range of sea life you’ll see when you get to stay
underwater for extended periods of time. We love our diving expeditions!
We enjoyed our annual December holiday gathering, thanks to Bill and Judy for hosting, and with great appreciation to
all the folks who contributed so generously to our potluck dinner. It was chilly, but many braved dining on the lanai! While
December and January were a little chilly for some dive outings, it is never too cold to have a party to enjoy one
another’s company and relive the dive stories that get shared.
The PGI Dive Club exists for the purpose of promoting the scuba diving interests of our members, regardless of the
diving skill or
experience one may
have. If you have an
interest in diving,
please attend one
of our monthly
meetings. We
gather on the fourth
Thursday of each
month (except
November and
December) at 7
p.m. at the Civic
Association. Our
next meeting will be
January 25.
In addition to our
regular monthly
meetings, we
encourage divers
who want to learn
about our club to
