It is here at last! The 7 Annual “Share the Love for the Kids Home Tour”
begins Saturday, February 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please buy your tickets
and come enjoy our 6 beautiful homes and one garden. The Home Tour
begins at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association. You can purchase tickets
for $25 and can be purchased online at www.beyondourselves.peapps.com
or at the PGICA lobby February 1 and 2. Please make checks payable to
Beyond Ourselves. On Tour Day, February 3, tickets will be $30. There will
also be raffle baskets at the PGICA. So, gather your friends, make a day of
it, and have fun trying to be the highest bidder on one of these wonderful
baskets. You will be helping the children of Charlotte County while enjoying
beautiful homes and a garden. All workers who are signed up to help on the
day of the Tour can preview the homes the night before, but remember you
need a ticket to view the homes.
Beyond Ourselves presented a check to Peace River Wildlife Center from
the distribution of funds raised at the Beyond Ourselves Bash for local
designated charities. Dr. Robin Jenkins (Veterinarian) and Callie Stahl
(Executive Director) accepted the donation from Deborah Huddleston
(Beyond Ourselves representative). PRWC is currently raising money for
their future new building and maintaining their ongoing budget. They rescue,
rehabilitate, and release wildlife. In addition, Peace River Wildlife Center
provides education to the community about
nature in our local environment.
Charlotte County Homeless Shelter: We need
volunteers to serve dinner at the CCHC on
Saturday, February 3, the same day as the
Home Tour. Arrive at 4:30 p.m. and leave by
6 p.m. Contact Ruth Kliment at
kliment2FL@comcast.net or at 941-347-7776 to
volunteer. The next dinner will be on March 3.
Join us for our monthly meeting on February 21
at 10 a.m. at the PGICA. We meet monthly with
a pre-set agenda. Our agenda includes making
great plans, looking at new opportunities for our
future endeavors, and generally being creative.
All members are invited to attend, but also if you
are considering joining our group, this is an excellent way to hear about what we do for outreach in our community.
If you take any pictures that you would like us to consider for future Commentator articles, please send them to Sue
Kelley at skelley180@aol.com.
