THE GIFTED GATOR BOUTIQUE PGICA Board of Directors
The history of the Gifted Gator dates back to the 60’s when wives of founding members of the PGICA sold donated
handmade items in our first small building. The Gifted Gator grew into a shop that was an outlet for PGICA member
artists and authors to sell their crafts. After Charley and the building of the new facility, the Gifted Gator was given the
opportunity to rent the current space next to the main office.
Today, the artists are both members and non-members of PGICA. When the board considered renewing their lease, we
had to factor in the use of the room and the benefit to all members. We determined that there are now other shops in
Punta Gorda that give artists space to display and sell their crafts. As you have heard many times we are “Busting at the
Seams.” We must provide space for member clubs, classes and member activities in our building. We can no longer
provide space for this shop.
In December the Gifted Gator’s lease will expire. However, The Gifted Gator’s will be allowed to extend their lease so
that they may remain open through the 2017-2018 season, have their craft fair and fashion show events, utilizing the
space in the main room free of charge, and continue to operate until April 1, 2018.
We hope you will continue to shop the Gifted Gator, and we wish them well.
