JFF ~ JUST FOR FUN Kerry Foscardo, kerfos@aol.com
The past few weeks have reminded us that weather plays a big role in our lives. Thank goodness for
our friends in JFF to bring us laughs and fellowship when skies are sunny or occasionally gray.
However, our Club mascot, the pink flamingo, is usually wearing sunglasses and flip flops.
We have found a great place for our monthly Happy Hour while enjoying a view of Charlotte Harbor.
We will have social time at Scotty’s Brewhouse at Fisherman’s Village on Friday, October 6, at 5
p.m.
On October 24, we would love to have you join us for Octoberfest at Sandra’s Restaurant in Punta
Gorda. There will be a cash bar starting at 5 p.m., which will be followed by a group dinner. Come
enjoy the food and music of Germany with your JFF friends. Register on the JFF website and pay
early, as only 80 people can be accommodated at the restaurant.
Host & Toast is a wonderful way to meet a few other Club members while enjoying a good group
meal in the intimacy of a Club member’s home. To join the fun, contact Judy Gardner
at jnjgardner@gmail.com.
Check our
website
calendar for
additional
activities,
including the
Mix & Mingle
date for
October. It is
held at 5
p.m., at St.
Andrews. We
welcome
people to join
us if they are
interested in
finding out
more about
JFF.
The JFF Men's
Lunch will be
on Wednesday,
October 25, at
Sonny’s BBQ, just north of El Jobean intersection on the right side of 41. Sign up is not necessary so just show up
at noon with a hearty appetite.
The excitement is building for the JFF Ladies Lunch on Wednesday, September 27, at noon, at Mint Asian Cuisine in
Punta Gorda. It is located at Cross Street (southbound 41 next to the Acme Bicycle Shop). You’ll find a good selection of
Asian dishes bound to please everyone. RSVP on JFF website.
Our lovely ladies enjoy getting together monthly for Girl’s Game Night. Sign up on the website for this popular evening of
games, snacks, and laughter.
Mah Jongg is scheduled every Thursday at 10 a.m. to noon, at St. Andrews. There is an option to stay and have lunch
(cash only). Contact Nancy Keppel at nkeppel@gmail.com for additional information.
We are getting closer to our group cruise. It is not too late to sign up. San Juan, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Nassau, and St.
Thomas will be the ports we are visiting on our upcoming cruise. Embarkation is in San Juan and debarkation in Fort
Lauderdale. There are already 35 cabins booked for this terrific seven night Caribbean cruise on the Celebrity Summit in
January 2018. Contact Deb Sulla at dasisme2@yahoo.com for more information.
Flamingo Express announcements on upcoming activities are made by email so keep checking so you do not miss
anything planned for Just For Fun!
