PGI CRUISING CLUB Larry MacKinnon, pgilarry@centurylink.net

Every month, as the Commentator article submission dates approach, I try and throw down a
few ideas I might want to include in our Cruising Club’s news offering. For September, there
was never any doubt about what and whom I would be writing about. The community of Punta
Gorda, the PGI Civic Association and our Cruising Club
lost a friend, a selfless contributor to the community and
one person that epitomized the spirit of Punta Gorda, Ray
                                 Rose.

If you have ever attended a meeting or presentation at the Civic Association and the
speaker used the wireless mike and video projector, thanks Ray. If you ever used
the meeting rooms and watched the big screen TV, Ray had a hand in that too. If
you used your wireless device in the building on the wifi, thanks Ray. When your
monthly Commentator is delivered ….. again, Ray. He also attended council
meetings, reported back to the membership of community developments and
projects, and wrote his monthly article for the Commentator. For myself, I can say
that many times when I was in the Civic Association building, I would bump into Ray,
and always with a smile. So, an indelible mark has been left in our hearts, our
thoughts, the membership of the association and our club, but most of all, in all of
Punta Gorda. And to his wife, Carol, his daughters and their families, thank you for
         sharing Ray with us.

See you around town – Larry

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and
rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
