When was the last time you visited a shop that can make boast “all items are handmade by local artists”?

The Gifted Gator can make that post and we often do. When you visit the Gator, not only are you in for the treat of
seeing all these magnificent handmade items, but you’ll be given the opportunity to meet one of the local artists.

Today I would like to tell you about one of them. Her name is Stephanie Stewart. She learned to knit when she was a
mere five years old. Since then, she had knitted everything from Aran sweaters to caps for soldiers overseas. While
travelling with her husband, retired Colonel Larry over the years, she has enjoy buying yarn in many of the countries she
has visited. Stephanie has won awards in knitting in Irish state fairs as recently as 2012.

Since moving to Florida, Stephanie has mostly spent her time using Stephanie Stewart
specialty yarns to knit elegant shawls and lacy ponchos which she sells in
the Gifted Gator. She also donates many of her knitted items to local
charities and never refuses when asked to donate something. During one
of your visits to the Gifted Gator you might just be lucky enough to meet
our Stephanie.

So, whether it’s a card, jewelry, wreaths, or pottery, you won’t be
disappointed with the Gifted Gator. There are so many items in our little
shop, I can’t possibly name them all. You’ll just have to come in to see for
yourself. Meet one of our artists. We’re always eager to talk about what we
do.

One of the most important things about the Gifted Gator is that we are local so even in the hottest days or during one of
our horrendous thunderstorms, you don’t have to drive far to enjoy the pleasant experience of seeing what our talented
artists can do. Unless there is a major holiday, we are open Monday to Friday. Our summer hours are from 9 a.m. to
noon. Regular hours for The Gifted Gator, October to May, are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
