FLORIDIANS
Pat Jones, 941-916-3717, PatJones@anchorsawaycruises.com
Our mission is to provide social opportunities.
Our goals are to make friends, participate, learn, and enjoy life.
The picture is from a recent Ladies
Lunch Out in November at Scotty’s in
Fishermen’s Village. As you can see,
we had a beautiful day and a great turnout. This is a great way to meet
new friends and share stories with old friends.
Again, the Holiday Dinner Dance held at the Isles Yacht Club and was
a big hit. This gives everyone a chance to dress up and the men a
chance to complain about dressing up. Live music, great food and
good friends always makes this a good time. Darlene and Judy did a
great job organizing this activity. Thank you to all those who attended.
The schedule for January activities is as follows: Ladies Lunch Out at Scotty’s

Over the past year, the leadership team of Floridians considered several changes to the way that activities are scheduled
and conducted. In keeping with the times and the needs of our many members we have made some changes. It is felt
that these changes will update and streamline the club processes to
better serve the members and to attract and retain more volunteer
leaders with a lesser amount of stress and commitment.
The number of Board Meetings will be reduced. We will have board
meetings about 5 times a year on an as needed basis. General
Membership meetings will remain at 5:30, on the second Monday of
the month, which was a time change that we made last year. In 2018
we will only schedule 3 meetings, February, April, and November. We
are open to theme suggestions for food at these meetings. A Holiday
Dinner Dance will be scheduled in December. We are not sure at this
time which activities we will continue. Attendance and a Chairman is a
big consideration. We will also consider special events when one is suggested.
If you look at our calendar you will see we have LOTS of activities throughout the month. I have tried to keep the
calendar as accurate as possible. If you need the instructions I handed out at the meeting, email me and I will send them
to you. It is NOT difficult. I will hold a workshop at PGICA if there is participation, or give you instruction in your home.
This system facilitates signing up for events, seeing who else is attending and what they might be bringing. It can give
the leaders an accurate count when ordering food. Don’t tell me you can’t do it, because my 98 year old mother-in-law
has email and she didn’t learn how to do it until she was in her 80’s!!!! (It’s me, Pat Jones) We will be having a special
prize given out for a SIGN IN EVENT!!! Keep an eye out for this event. So…let’s learn the system now.
