HEALTH, SAFETY & WELFARE Janet Lynn, jlynnpgi@hotmail.com
I hope everyone had a good Holiday season and has a healthy year ahead.
Many of us resolve to enhance & improve our lives in some way, as we begin a New Year. I hope you all reach the goals
you set for yourselves & that 2018 brings everyone happiness, good health & prosperity.
It's hard to believe that 2017 has gone by so quickly. The New Year also brings change to the PGICA board: some are
retiring their positions, and some are staying on for another year. I will continue as your director for Health Safety and
Welfare.
I want to say it has been a pleasure and privilege to serve with the Board of 2017. I would like to express my
appreciation to each and every one of them, for their help and cooperation.
My goal for PGICA is to continue to attract new speakers and programs that enhance our lives. Every member, current
or new, brings our organization new thoughts and fresh ideas. Please let me know what I can do.
On Thursday, January 18 at 7 p.m., Dr. Roger Strube will share his vision on The American Health Care Crisis: What
does the future hold.
Sandwich Seminar put on by Bayfront Health, that is held the 3rd Tuesday of each month, will be on January 16. We will
have a lecture by Mark Davis, M.D., Orthopedic Surgeon, called "Let’s Talk about Hip and Knee Pain." You are not
alone on your journey to pain-free living. Have your questions answered one-on-one for all your hip and knee ailments.
The seminar is designed to educate patients on their options, both surgical and non-surgical. RSVP is required for this
free lunch provided by Bayfront Health.
Please call the PGICA office, to register for these free events at 941-637-1655 so you can hear some important
information and enjoy lunch with your friends.
“Let’s dare to be ourselves for we do that better than anyone else can.” Shirley Briggs
