MaryAnne Darst 913-226-8471 or madarst@kw.com to let them know
you’ll be there.
Our ladies have been reading over the summer and will meet again to chat
and review their book selections. While the club is full, the coordinators will
be happy to let you know when a space opens up or will help you start a
new club. Call Lisa Koeneman at 540-580-5965 or Linda Cram at
401-474-2436 to get more information.
Several activities that Newcomers participate in are special interest groups
with other PGICA members. Darts for Newcomers and Others at the Ice
House Pub, 408 Tamiami Trail on the fourth Tuesday of each month is one
for which you’ll need to get on an email list. Wayne Erickson, Break the balloon game
wayneerickson48@gmail.com emails all interested folks two weeks before
the event. The first 32 folks to respond are in the friendly tournament set up by the Ice House staff. We meet at 5 p.m. to
eat beforehand or by 5:45 p.m.to check in and get your team assignment. June winners
were Joan Erickson and Richard Grosvenor while Judy Grosvenor and John Rice took
second place. July winners were John Bothwell and Richard Grosvenor and coming in
second were Judy Cincotti and Barry Miller. Methinks the Grosvenor’s have been
practicing!
Biking with Friends is a group of folks riding in the local area at 8:30 a.m. Thursday
mornings. They meet in front of the PGI Grille on Aqui Esta and Bal Harbor for a leisurely
ten-mile ride. Helmets are highly recommended. Contact Sue Manternach,
sueman16@gmail.com or 239-339-7517 for additional information.
Picnic HulaHooper:
Donna Pape As fall approaches we look to nominating/electing new officers and activity chairmen and
women. We also have need of helpers with the club Christmas party. If there is an activity
you’ve enjoyed in the past and think you could devote some time to chairing it in the next club year, please let any officer
know. Our names and contacts are on the club website. In the meantime, know we may call one day to see if you would
serve on the board. Consider it an honor and be thoughtful about whether you’d like to participate in some way.
Volunteers and their willingness to get to know others through happy “work” is what makes our new lives in Punta Gorda
so special!
