June is the month I like to refer to as “Spring Break” in Florida. Winter session is over and
everybody leaves!! Nah! Not really. I do admit it’s JUST a little bit quieter after June first, but if
you make the best of it, “Spring Break” CAN last until October! The seasons in Florida are
very much different than where I came from in Northern New Jersey. In Punta Gorda I find
there are only two seasons-“they left” season and “they’re back” season.

In Northern “Joisey”, our seasons were described as
“Look at those beautiful leaves”, and then, “We have to
clean up ALL those leaves?”, followed by, “Crap, it’s cold”
and then finally, “OMG! It’s COLD!” I’m not even going to
touch Minnesota’s forecast of Cold-REALLY Cold-
Lukewarm and then colder.

All kidding aside, we live in the BEST place in all of Florida
-Punta Gorda! Here at the PGI Cruising Club, we work just
as hard in every season to make it interesting and have
fun. Our “they left” season will be just as much fun as we
can make it. Come any Tuesday and enjoy Happy Hour
with us at St. Andrews South at 5 p.m.
