Celebrate Life is a group of women who fight cancer every day. We are both
young and not so young, recent and longtime survivors, married, widowed and
single and all of us have had or have cancer. I often think about what my
pastor, Father Jerry at Sacred Heart, said to me once. He asked how I was
doing and I told him "just fine.” He is also a cancer survivor and as he gave me
a hug, he said, "You know, Sara, we're not just surviving, we're thriving.” That's
what we try to do every day and we invite you to be a part of that.

June was our last meeting of the "year." We don't have meetings in the summer
but always find a good restaurant here in town to have lunch and catch up with
each other. We’ll be meeting for lunch on the first Wednesday of July and
August. Why don’t you think about joining us? Just give me a call and I’ll be
glad to let you know where we’re going to be. My first experience with
‘Celebrate Life’ was at lunch during the summer. I didn’t know a soul when I
walked into the restaurant, but by the time I left, I knew I was in the right place
and I would keep on coming back. It’s now been 11 years. Come on, give us a
try.

Our next regular meeting will be September 6. I’ll be around during the summer and you can be sure that I’ll remind you
before that date. We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 10 a.m. at the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association,
