Summer has arrived in Punta Gorda and we are grateful for the hot sunny days and the thunder
showers. This time of year allows us to enjoy the gorgeous trees in bloom, less traffic, and warmer
pool temperatures.

Don’t miss the TGIF
celebrations on Friday,
July 7 at 5 p.m. at
Scotty’s Brewhouse at
Fisherman’s Village. It is
such a fun and favorite
waterfront venue that we
will also meet there at 5
p.m. on Friday, August 4
for TGIF.

Join fellow JFF members on Tuesday, July 11
for an airboat ride on the Peace River by
Peace River Charters in Arcadia. Meet at the
PGICA parking lot no later than 9 a.m., to
carpool to Arcadia. Space is limited and sign-
up is definitely required.

There was a great turnout for our first joint
mixer with Mix & Mingle social time at St.
Andrews with Paradise Friends. Plan to attend the other two joint mixers during the summer months on Thursday, July
20 at 5 p.m., and Thursday, August 17 also at 5 p.m.

The JFF Men's Lunch for July will be on Wednesday, July 26 at noon at Wally’s on Tamiami Trail (Route 41) on the
southwest side of the road between Conway and Easy Streets in Port Charlotte. On Wednesday, August 30, the guys
are planning a lunch at Hurricane Charley’s right here in Punta Gorda. Sign-up is not necessary so just arrive with a
smile and an appetite.

While the men head north to Port Charlotte for lunch on July 26, the JFF Ladies Lunch will head south for a summer
afternoon combining lunch and shopping. Meet at noon at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse which is located at the front
of Gulf Coast Town Center at 9960 University Plaza Drive in Fort Myers. After lunch you can take advantage of
numerous shopping opportunities. On August 30, the ladies will be lunching at F.M. Don’s (formerly Jack’s) on Marion
Avenue in Punta Gorda. Please sign up for the luncheons so the restaurants can accommodate our group with ease.

Girl’s Game Night will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 10 and Monday, August 14. Sign up on the website for this popular
evening of games, snacks, and laughter.

Join us on Wednesday, July 19, for the monthly JFF Dine Around at
5 p.m. at Sandra’s German Restaurant in Punta Gorda. On August
8, we will meet at Hurricane Charley’s at 5 p.m. for a social hour
which will be followed by dinner at about 6 p.m. Please sign up if
you plan to attend.

Mah Jongg is a favorite activity for many JFF members every
Thursday at 10 a.m., to noon at St. Andrews. There is an option to
stay and have lunch (cash only). Contact Nancy Keppel at

A great Caribbean cruise has been organized by our tireless Deb
Sulla aboard the Celebrity Summit in January 2018. San Juan, St.
Kitts, St. Maarten, Nassau, and St. Thomas will be the ports we are
visiting. Embarkation is in San Juan and debarkation in Fort
Lauderdale. There are already 35 cabins booked for this terrific
seven-night cruise. Flight and hotel suggestions are now available.
