Super Bowl Sunday, Fat Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, and Presidents Day - just how many activities in
addition to all of these wonderful days, can we look forward to celebrate this month? You are right.
All of them! Let’s spend this month actively enjoying a lot more activities with our wonderful friends.
If you are new to our Club, be sure to attend as many events as you can. And if you are not new,
you can come join with all of us to meet our new club members.
But before we get to
what we are doing
this month, we want to share with you that New Year’s Eve Party

Tables of 8 –You are welcome to meet
with a small group of people either in a
home or at a restaurant. This dining
experience is already planned for
February 1, so please remember to go if
you signed up for that night. Otherwise,
you can contact Peg Baird, Chair of
Tables of 8, no later than February 20 and
she will sign you up for the March 1

Ladies Lunch Bunch – Ladies, join us for lunch on Thursday, February 8, at Noon at the Beach Road Wine Bar & Bistro,
1350 Beach Rd., Englewood. Join us for great food and wine, with a beautiful view of Lemon Bay. Please sign up on the

Chow Hounds Men’s Lunch Bunch – Also at noon on Thursday, February 8, the men will dine at the Ragin Cajun, 4104
El Jobean Rd., Port Charlotte. Join Bert and others for traditional New Orleans style cuisine. Enjoy the Cajun food before

Mixers - On Thursday, February 15, please plan to come to St. Andrews South Golf Club, 1901 Deborah Drive from 5 to
7 p.m. It’s the monthly opportunity to mix and mingle, enjoy complimentary appetizers and have a beverage or two from

Choice – Thursday, February 22, at 9:45 a.m. you are invited to come join us to see the creation of a Superhero. This
multimedia presentation shows what it takes to train guide dogs for the visually impaired and service dogs for veterans.

We will go to the Guide Dogs Training School Tour, 4210 77 St., E. Palmetto. Afterwards, we will go to lunch at
Riverside Reef & Grill, 995 Riverside Dr., Palmetto, which is on the Manatee River. Please sign up on our website. You

Be sure to attend the wonderful Home Tour on February 3 sponsored by Beyond Ourselves. Tickets are $25 in advance,
and $30 on the day of the tour. Go to the PGICA website for tickets and more information.
Membership - The Paradise Friends Club is open to all PGI Civic Association members. If you would like to join us, we
would love to have you. Dues are $20 per year/per person and you can order name tags for $11 each. You can get a
form from the PGICA lobby or from Sue Preece, our new Membership Chair. Leave the completed form and check at the
