PARADISE FRIENDS Dan Kain, 248-210-0350, dkain01@gmail.com, paradisefriends.peapps.com
April is such a fun time to enjoy Punta Gorda Isles. We are no fools this time of year, but rather fun
people interested in taking in all we can during this month. Please come join us for our events as we
have a great time planning them, attending them and enjoying fun with our friends and looking
forward to meeting new friends. We will rise to a new level of participation as we forge into April’s
activities.
Tables of 8: All are welcome to sign up for a small home dinner
gathering or a gathering at a restaurant. Peg Baird will organize the
groups for you. We all need to sign up in advance, so please sign up for the May 3 dinner
no later than April 20. If you signed up for the dinner on April 5 be sure you do not forget to
attend. You can contact Peg Baird, chair of Tables of 8, and she will sign you up for the
May 3 dinner. For more info contact Peg Baird at
419-681-2147 or boatdrx@gmail.com.
Ladies Lunch Bunch: Please join us on April 12 for a
waterfront dining experience at Cass Cay Restaurant &
Bar at 3200 Matecumbe Key Rd., Punta Gorda. Please
check the Paradise Friends website and calendar for more
details, as well as to sign up. For information contact
Lynne Miller at 561-212-6994 or Lynneb1025@gmail.com.
Chow Hounds Men’s Lunch Bunch: Join the men on
April 12 at noon who will gather at Phil’s 41 at 1975
Tamiami Trail in Punta Gorda. No sign up is needed, just
show up. If you are still busy doing your taxes before the deadline, come take a break
and enjoy the guys’ company. Who knows what retired C.P.A. might be in attendance
and waiting for you to ask a brief question. Just kidding of course! For more information
contact Bert Leitsch at Bert370@IX.netcom.com.
Mixers: On April 19 please plan to come to St. Andrews South Golf Club at 1901 Deborah Drive from 5 to 7. It’s a great
time to mix and mingle, enjoy complimentary appetizers and have some drinks from the cash bar. We can celebrate with
our Paradise Friends that we all completed our tax returns. We hope most of us made the deadline and we can all be
happy about that task in our past for another year. For more information about mixers contact Struss Shirk at
strussshirk@bellsouth.net or 305-301-6235.
Choice: On April 26 we are going to Useppa Island tour and lunch. At the time of this writing, we have sold out for April
26 as they can only accommodate 30 visitors at a time. We are working on another group of 30 for April 27. If you are
interested in that trip, please add your name to the waitlist on the website and we will be in touch as soon as we receive
approval for the second trip. Please note we will be collecting money and lunch choices in advance for this trip, so if you
are on the list we'll contact you directly with more information about the trip. Please Contact Kathy Leitsch at
610-357-2612 or Kaleitsch@gmail.com for more information.
SunDay Funday: Come join us at the PGICA Pavilion outside on Sunday, April 29 from 4 to 8 for our fourth annual Bye,
Bye Birdie Lobsta Fest. We are very pleased that Ralph Steele, one of our members, will see to it that each person who
has signed up and paid no later than April 23 will receive his/her very own two-pound lobster! Be sure to sign up on our
