         ZUMBA MASTER CLASS: Monday, April 14, 3 to 4 p.m. for Zin’s, 4 to 5 p.m. for General Public.  Zumba international
         Convention Presenter, Master Instructor Jessica Exposito is coming to PGICA directly from Spain to share her talent and
         passion for dance and Zumba with us. The cost is $20 for the general public or $15 for ZIN’s (Zin’s pay $30 for both

                                 Adding Iris to your Florida Yard

                                 Join the Master Gardeners as we discuss
                                 “Adding Iris to Your Florida Yard” on Tuesday,
                                 April 17 at 2 p.m. Flowering plants in the Iris
                                 family add color, texture, and form to any
                                 home landscape. Both native and non-native
                                 types of iris grow in Florida, with the exception
                                            of the northern bearded
                                            (German) garden iris. Learn how
                                            to grow these sensational irises.
                                            Many are spring bloomers.
                                            Some types of iris like the soil
                                            ‘wet’ continuously while others

                                            planting beds or in containers.
                                            Choose one or more from the following:
                                            native iris, Siberian iris, Regina iris,
                                            Louisiana iris, yellow flag, blue flag
                                            copper iris, walking iris, African iris,
                                            blackberry lilies, and blue-eyed grass.

                                            There are so many possibilities that will
                                            add dimension to your landscape. This
                                            session will cover planting tips, care and
                                            maintenance of this interesting plant. Our
                                            presenter will be Thomas Becker, native
                                            plant specialist with the Charlotte County
                                                                 Extension
                                                                 Service.

                                                                 program, we will
                                                                 offer gardening
                                                                 suggestions
                                                                 pertinent to this
                                                                 time of year. The
                                                                 Master Gardeners
                                                                 will also be
                                                                 available to
                                                                 answer your specific questions regarding plant care and
                                                                 insect or pest problems. Bring specimens in a sealed
                                                                 plastic baggie, and photos also.
