PGI SINGLES CLUB Sharon Lane, Vice President, 941-467-4717, sharlane308@hotmail.com

In November, the PGICA Singles Club board requested from the members nominees to fill board of directors positions to
carry us through the 2018 year. There were no positions contested and the 2018 board was established as follows:
president, Sharon Lane; vice president, Glee Miller; treasurer, Maryanne Hood; and membership, Mary Ann Brunkhorst.
We decided this year to replace the event/activities director with a committee of several members willing to share their
time a couple times a year to meet with the board to plan a couple of months ahead for events and activities. Several
people have already offered to volunteer. If you wish to help with this, please contact the president, Sharon Lane, at
         941-347-7128 or sharonjlane@comcast.net.

Our Singles happy hour/dinner continues into the New Year at Laishley Crab House. This month we meet on
Wednesday, January 10 at 5 p.m. If you plan to attend, please contact Mary Ann Brunkhorst at 941-204-7172 or
         mabs51@aol.com.

Tuesday night game night continues to be a favorite activity for our members. We meet every Tuesday from 5:30 to 8:30
at the PGICA building. If you have a game you like to play and would like to incorporate in with the present Mexican
train, mah jongg, and manipulation, bring it along. Jean LaMantia would be glad to answer any of your questions about
this activity. Please contact her at 941-525-4266 or jeanlamantia@yahoo.com.

Our Dine around the World has found a new night
this month. This new day will allow us to enjoy
restaurants which have not previously open to us as
a group on Fridays. We will meet on Thursday,
January 25 at the Blue Turtle (formerly The Turtle
Club) on Marion Street in Punta Gorda at 5 p.m.
Parking is available on the neighborhood streets or
in the parking garages on Taylor Street or Herald
Court one block behind the restaurant. Carpooling is
available and will leave the PGICA parking lot at
4:40. Please be on time, as some of the restaurants
require the whole group to be in attendance before
seating us. Contact Carole Lafazia at 941-916-9364
         or carolelafazia@yahoo.com to place your
reservation and let her know at that time if you will
         meet to carpool.

Share the Love for the Kids Home Tour is coming
up on Saturday, February 3 from 10 to 4. Check the
Beyond Ourselves page in the Commentator for
both online and PGICA availability of tickets
beginning on January 2. This is a wonderful way to view six beautiful homes while supporting the Beyond Ourselves
Club with their major fundraiser of the year to benefit New Operation Cooper Street, Back Pack Kidz, and Crossroads
Hope Academy. If you wish to volunteer to help show the homes, please contact Carole Nieberline at
         cnieberline@yahoo.com.

Come share the fun with the PGI Singles Club! Our membership is growing and we would like to see more members
share in our friendship and activities. Any single PGICA member who is interested in joining should contact Mary Ann
Brunkhorst at 941-204-7172 or mabs51@aol.com. Applications can also be picked up at the PGICA front desk.
