ROAD RUNNERS RV CLUB Ellen Say, President, 941-505-9605, bruce2el@yahoo.com
Many Road Runners have returned to Punta Gorda and others may still be on their
way back. September/October is the beginning of a new season of trips and activities
with fellow RVers. We have a busy schedule planned for this year.
In September, some of the Road Runners enjoyed the beauty of the sands along the
Gulf at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, before returning
to Punta Gorda. It is a great place to relax after a summer of travel.
Our first meeting of the season will be on Thursday, October 12, at 7 p.m., at the PGI
Civic Association building. President Ellen Say, along with Planning and Trip
Coordinator Marian Delfs, will get us off to a good start. We will also be sharing details
of the places and adventures we experienced this past summer.
The schedule for October, November, and December include the following trips and activities:
October 20 - 29: A popular trip to Fantasy Fest in Key West has been planned. Road Runners will be staying at
Curry Hammock State Park, Marathon. Reservations for this trip were made eleven months ago. Hosts Lynne
Puglise and Gary Culp will advise us if any cancellations make space available.
October 25: Ladies' luncheon has been scheduled with location TBA. Watch for an email with details.
November 16: Sharon and Art Schott are hosting Dinner & Darts at the Ice House, Punta Gorda. This is always an
enjoyable evening with lots of laughs.
November 19 - 22: A fun and interesting trip to Lion Country Safari KOA at Loxahatchee near West Palm Beach is
being planned.
November 22 - 25: Marian and Richard Delfs have organized the Thanksgiving trip to Upriver RV Resort, Ft. Myers.
We will enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner with Road Runners and other RVers staying at the park.
December 27: Ladies' luncheon
More trips and activities are scheduled for 2018. If you are interested in RVing, join us at one of our meetings scheduled
for the second Thursday of every month at 7 p.m., at the PGI Civic Association building. We enjoy meeting new people.
