PGI FISHING CLUB Gary Skillicorn, garyskillicorn@hotmail.com

I offer a special greeting to our returning “snowbird” fishermen and fisherwomen. We hope
that when you return to your summer retreat you bring with you great fishing memories.
We’d like to help you capture those
                                  memories.

As a reminder to the new arrivals with
unfortunate seawall failures, if you need
to temporarily relocate your boat or have
a loaner dock available, check out the
                                  “Dock Match” program offered in
cooperation with the City and Punta

With the cooler weather we’re seeing additions to the wide variety of
                                             fish in the harbor. In-shore
                                             trout and sheepshead are
                                             back with us again along
                                             with snook, redfish, cobia,
                                             and snapper. When the
                                             winds pick up, consider
fishing the canals in Joe Bukowski 31” Redfish
                                             comfort. Snook,
sheepshead, and juvenile tarpon can be found. Of course keep in mind the size
regulations and be kind to the throwbacks. Between cold fronts there are
usually a couple of days with light winds to take advantage of; maybe with an
off-shore trip for grouper. No thunderstorms now but watch the cold front winds.
We’re hoping the red tide keeps its distance.

Please join us at the monthly meeting January 9 at 7 p.m. You’ll see the best of
the best during the annual award presentations. No award for me and I know
I’ll be envious seeing those monster fish!
